Is there really an ideal mens mountain bike frame? It’s like stating there’s an ideal car, or ideal boat, etc. It’s up to the eye of the beholder and what works well for one may not work well for another. But frames are more than esthetics.

While one bike frame looks great and maybe even rated great by everybody you know, it might not be best for you. We’re all individuals and trying to get everybody to not only like but also have a mountain bike frame that actually meets your needs isn’t going to happen. And the mens mountain bike manufactures already know that. That’s why there’s more than one bike out there with many different frame types.

So much of where you ride will dictate that type of frame that you will need and is more of a criteria than what other people will say. Another thing that is part of this is that not too many people talk about and that is the size of the person riding the mountain bike. Certain frames are designed for people who are larger and are heavier and other frames are designed for those who are lighter and smaller.

So no, the ideal mountain bike frame doesn’t exist. Not listed like that. Now you could say is there an ideal mountain bike frame for somebody who is 6’ tall, weighs 200 lbs and rides rugged terrain. Then maybe you could identify an ideal frame, but even then preferences come into play. Do you like a soft ride or a hard ride, when you ride are you more passive or are you aggressive and pound your bike. All of these are factors will determine a bike frame that is right for you.

So while it would be nice and easy to find the ideal bike frame that is right for everybody, it just doesn’t exist, so no sense trying to find it.
